The Dunedin Archery Club won the Ryan Shield in 2004 – the first time in 38 years. The annual Ryan Shield competition was started in 1949 and the Dunedin club’s last win was 1966.
The team of Makato Kusakabe, Garry Porter, Ann Holmes and Ivan Powley won the event with a combined score of 3128 points with 12 points in hand over the Auckland Archery Club.
